This chest is of Chinese origin, made for travel and for transporting teas, silks and porcelain from China to Europe in the 19th century. This chest has old exposed dovetailed construction with lift top and fall front design~~~it\'s the perfect size for a coffee table or use as a blanket box or storage trunk~~~SO versatile! Notice the exquisite original decorative brass hardware~~~a superb example of the craftsmanship of the era. The interior is lined with plaid fabric. Very rich patina!~~~sturdy and stable construction.
