This is a rustic, antique carved and red-coated soldier of an unknown country. He holds a Flag that is red and white stripes with a blue inner corner that contains a star. Is that supposed to be symbolic of the USA or is it the Flag of another country? If you know, please send me the information. If the Flag offends you for whatever reason, you can easily replace it at any toy store. This military man is dressed to the nines. He wears a blue top hat with a braid circling the top, a red coat closed by 3 semi-circular braids, white shirt and pants and blue legs and feet. He is articulated at his joints and needs support to sit up. He folds down quite neatly and, if used as a toy, was easy to store. I have displayed him sitting on a small blanket chest with his back against the wall & he never fell over. He shows some signs of his age with a few cracks but the only significant flaw is at the top of his hat which has a few pieces of wood chipped off. Please look at the photos. You don\'t get to be an antique soldier without some signs of age. My guess is that this fellow was used as a toy, but I can\'t be certain. He is colorful, jaunty and comes from another age. I find him nice to be around.
