This is a beautiful antique sailors carving of an inkwell.Carved from a piece of scrap or drift wood it is in the style of a scrimshaw carving.Probably carved during a long voyage it is made out of wood and depicts an exotic nut sitting on a leaf.Great character to this.Dates to around 1900 / 1920\'s.6 inches long. 3 and a quarter inches at its widest.
