This is a locket antique needle case, perfect for keeping pesky needles out of feet and off the floor! I have a similar one that I have on a modified chatelaine. Honestly a really handy piece of sewing equipment. Would make a nice piece to be used as a prop in theatre or film or photo shoots for Victorian scenes or give as a gift.
