Antique Chinese Bronze Incense Burner Late 16th - 17th Century:

This Antique Chinese Bronze Incense Burner is heavily cast and supported by four Taotie Masked legs. The main body is adorned with ancient Chinese figures of the Jade Emperor, on one side, and the Empress Queen of the West on the other. Both are flanked on each side by wise men guardians. Fantastic Ringed Dragon Heads support the main body on each side.

The top is embellished and surrounded by Foo Dog figures and the Eight Immortals.

The piece is unmarked. However, the structure and design are consistent

with the Late 16th - 17th Century.

It measures 13 1/2\" tall and 14 1/2\" wide at the handles and is 4\" deep.

Patina is consistent with an object of this age.

There is a oldBronze repair on the top that appears to be done at or immediately after the time of casting (see photo 8 & 9).
