Unique 8\" Chinese composite doll. What is so rare is the paper clothing. To think it is still around is stunning. I have only found one other similar to this one. But that had silk robes. This one has some real hair and some painted bangs with a beanie on his head. He may have had a braid at one time as their is some old glue on the back just under the hair. There is also a string attached that may have held an object at one time. Black glass eyes. He seems to have a bisque upper torso, elbows to hands, and knees to toes. He seems to be jointed at the waist. His thighs and upper arms are stuffed muslin. I do not know what stuffing was used. Because the paper is fragile and torn in some places I don\'t want to move it around. There appears to be some barely noticeable cracks. See the photo closeups. He could use a washing up, but I would fear ruining the composite if you do. There is some crudity to the work but he is quaint and endearing.
