Circa mid -19th Century Seagrass , Wicker , Bar Harbor RockerExtremely well made with deep springs wire tied into the base of the rocker, amply reinforced woven bentwood bar construction.Overall good condition, of course you will see the broken reed in the back of the rocker and I have photographed other areas that show wear. The seat cushion may well be original, the layer you see in the picture appears to be 1930’s western, it was the third layer down, we stopped peeling there as the horse / cowboy motif was kind of cute.I have done quite a bit of searching on the web to find another like it. I have seen beautifully intricate chairs and chairs that look like they were just drug off the back of someone’s 200 acre lot where perhaps they’d once been towed to an outdoor shin dig 100 years ago and left there forgotten - and lots of chairs in between, I have only seen one other whose deep frame construction matches this one - I have seen a hand tied spring frame chair as well - just one.That said that doesn’t mean you won’t find one in your first ten minutes of searching, I am just telling you what I found.We have more pictures that we can send if you would like more details . ***Please view our pictures carefully so you can use the information you find in them to discern whether this is the right item for you!
