An early 20th Century Solid Cast White Metal Stag
I\'m not sure what this was used for ... perhaps as an ornament for a clock or a mount for a trophy -- but it\'s well-made and in fine condition.
The back retains the mounting screw, one which comes out quite far, so if to be mounted on a thick board, or otherwise. With considerable \"grab\" the screw can extend outwards to about 1.5\".
I gather the metal is white brass, yet the screw looks to be iron.
In the past, the piece has been cleaned as it shows cleaning paste still stuck in some areas on the overall form.
The rendering is quite nice -- there\'s no real uniformity to the sculpting of this stag. One ear turns one way, the other is more pointed upwards with the head slightly cocked to one side.
Measures: 5\" tall by 4.5\" wide by 3.25\" deep.
