Antique Commemorative President William McKinley Figural Cast Metal Clock ~ Rare!Scarce Clock Pictured in Collectors Weekly.This cast front clock commemorates President William McKinley. The case has the following wording: W. McKinley, Born Jan 29, 1843, Died Sept 14, 1891.
His last words were \"It Is God\'s Way, His Will Be Done\".Reasonable Offers Will Be Seriously Considered This clock is being sold in as/is, as viewed, and is in non-working condition. This would be a nice clock for a restoration project, or to have repaired, or have another clock placed inside the metal case. It would also be just fine to display as is. Upon acquiring this clock we were told that it had \"new works\", but I am not quite sure what they meant by that. As you can see in our pictures, it appears the internals are being held and secured with tape to the rear of the clock face. The hour/minute setting screw does set the hands, but it appears the second hand setting is missing the second hand on the face. We are not sure how to wind this clock, as we do not see a regular winding key, or a place for one. We do not know if the clock face or internals are original or not. We are not knowledgeable at all about clocks or clock repair. We do know that we have only found ONE of these clocks in our research, and that one is pictured in Collectors weekly on line. This would be a nice display piece for any collection, even in the condition it is in, or have the clock repaired so it is in working condition again.
