This is a very Beautiful Large Antique Copper Vatwith many possibilities
To use as a planter, table base, wash tub for a petite person or the kids
It does have large dovetail seams on the bottomand one on each side. It does have a brass label with numbers 24072? on the rim
There is a large dent and one that is smaller (both shown in photo\'s) on the basethese 2 dents do not show on the inside being that there is 2 layers of copperthen insulation in-between.
Measures - roughly about 25\" in height (this would not include the attached pipe on the bottom)It is showing about 26 1/2\" in the photo
33 1/4\" - across the top
My Husband says this weighs around 150 lbsIt is quite heavy

Hi, I have one of these.

It is actually the bottom portion of a whiskey still (distillery)

made by Hamilton Copper and Brass Works in 1950 in Hamilton Ohio.

If you look you will see below the rivets it has a double wall with space between.

It could be put under 90# PSI working pressure max temp 650 degrees F.

And I thought possibly it was somethingthat was on a large ship to cook up some stew for a large crew LOL.I\'m so gratefulfor this information…The company that made the kettle did make candy kettles before making the whisky kettles.So it is possible.My uncle used it in his dry cleaners to dye fabric years ago.
