Antique Blonde Cow Horn Cup For Ale or Cider - 4 1/4\" VICTORIAN ERA Scotland #3DESCRIPTION: An antiqueScottish ale or cider cup made fromhighland cattle horn, dating to the Victorian Era - ca 1880s. It is 4 1/4\" tall, all opaque blondehorn with an even yellow-gold patina from age. It has a very lightly polished surface. The set-in bottom is hand-cut opaque blonde horn. CONDITION: This sturdy horn cup is a fine piece for display.It is an heirloom to be cherished.You could possibly drink from it, but who knows what stable it has lived in for the past 130+ years.It will require cleaning if you want to drink from it - but no dishwasher, please!I let water stand in it over night.At this moment it does not leak. Any antique horn cup may develop leaks overtime with disuse. Natural horn may dry out, shrink, and warp a bit. Usually, to keep a horn cup leak-proof, just fill it regularly with water or better yet - with whisky!It will stay in fine condition. It has normal wear for its age, I find no damage of any consequence.
