Antique Dayak Blowgun With Darts & Quiver Borneo. Late 1800s or early 1900s, hand made indigenous blowgun. Made of dark wood, 23 1/2 inches in length, with a snake ornament carved out of the side of the blowgun. The snake is part of the same piece of wood.
A 6-inch dark wood spear tip is inserted in the end of the blowgun. The canister, of a lighter wood, is carved and stained with an image of a person or deity with large, pierced ears, a Dayak custom. It is 10 1/2 inches in length, 2 inches in diameter, and contains 10 newer wooden darts.
