Absolutely stunning piece of the past! The beautiful carnation pattern on white with all the fabulous flow blue accent is gorgeous and certain to be a \'must have\' for the serious collector!

This antique Royles Patent Self Pouring Teapot is huge and needs the two strong handles to move the pot when full. This is the only flow blue teapot with the 2 handles that I\'ve ever come across...so this is surely \'One of a Kind\'. Stands 10\" high to the top of the finial and holds 90 ounces (approx 12 cups). And Yes it pumps perfectly and has no exterior leaks!

This antique teapot is in fantastic condition...only a couple of picks in the high gloss over glaze...no chips, no cracks and no exterior crazing. Of course there is interior crazing from past use but adds to the history/patina of this item. Doulton made the self pouring teapot for the patentee, J J Royle of Manchester. Royle was an engineer and wanted a teapot made for the large families that could dispense tea without lifting the teapot. So by pushing down on the lid, with your finger covering the opening on the finial, the downward pressure forces the tea through the bottom of the spout, upward. The lid is made of pewter and the inside, deep cylindrical rim, is lined with a coated metal.
