Here is a really nice quality Dutch Netherlands silver gilt peppermint box.... it has a really fabulous shape...with a hinged lid.... it has 4 wonderful fine engraved vacant cartouches with foliage and swirls ...on the four panels.

The top of the box again is engraved with a really fabulous ARMORIAL coat of arms...it has a central CROSS with a BIRD in each quarter.. a MARTLET if you were in England...with Fleur like ends on the cross.

Now to the bottom..it has a stamped in hallmark or makers mark... and an engraved 4 digit number which I would say was the date... 1758...possibly its not.. you decide.

Looking thru my loope at the surface of the box.. you can see it has blotch like marks on all the surface.. I think it has been made like this.... if you find you do NOT like the box when its in your hand I will happily have it back as a return... as you may not be able to see this feature on my photographs... I think its a wonderfull little box... the top Armorial is dented very slightly too.

It is 4cm tall x 28mm wide x 25mm deep.
