Up for sale is a Very Cool Early Halloween Decoration stamped Germany with a tag marked HC CAPWELL and remnants of another that would have had the Original price tag. The Original CAPWELL\'S Department Store opened in Oakland California in 1889 and was rebuilt in 1912 and again in 1929. Although not dated,,,,,we would guess early 1900s - early 1920s. This one is a Painted Paper or Paper-Mache and Cardboard with spring eyes. The colar is felt. It is put together like a Vintage CANDY CONTAINER but does not open so possibly just meant to display. There is a little something rattling around inside though it is not heavy so it is not candy. It measures approx. 8 1/4\" tall to the top of the stem and is in very good displayable condition with expected wear as shown. It looks as if it was meant to look like fruit.
