Beautiful antique tiger oak Clark\'s spool storage box. Label on inside of lid is bright and clean. Box was constructed using 1/4\" thick solid tiger oak and assembled using the barefaced hoising joint. It measures 4 3/4\" wide x 3 5/16\" deep x 2 3/8\" tall. Inside is 4 1/4\" wide x 2 13/16\" deep x 2\" tall. Solid brass hinges and clasp are in good working order — clasp is missing button on top, but lid can be easily opened and closed. Entire box was refinished using MinWax Satin Varnish and hand-polished to a soft luster with superfine steel wool and paste wax. Bottom has original paper cover. Purple felt liner on inside bottom can be removed. Inside bottom is stamped Charles Tollner who also manufactures the Higgens Soap boxes. Excellent condition. All joints are solid. No cracks, scratches or splits in the wood. Also included are 5 packets of needles that were with the box when purchased — they look quite old.
