Item Description
Up for your consideration is a Antique Early 19th C. American PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL, ARTIST UNKNOWN (AMERICAN,Early/Mid 19TH CENTURY) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG GIRL. Oil on canvas. Unsigned Canvas: 21\'\' x 17\'\' Frame: 24.25\'\' x 21\'\'
The piece presents beautifully, the canvas has been professionally restored. There is stabilized crazing, especially through the dark portions of the artwork. There is also a long vertical line, from an old stretcher mark, where there is minor pigment loss. This is a straight line, extending from the about 3/4\" from the perimeter on the left side (as shown). The frame shows some minor loss to the gesso, and some losses to the beading on the inter-most side of the frame, and some losses to the gilt finish on the upper portion of the frame.
Please note that there are reflections from the glass on several of the pictures, there are no flaws or \"light/faded\" areas in the artwork.
