A wonderful antique paper mache Easter hen on nest candy container, made by the FN Burt Company (NY) in the 1920's-1930's era. Constructed of paper mache pulp molded to form the hen, with a hollow nest that would have been filled with grass and candies for an Easter treat. Such a lovely, older piece that would look so nice upon display for many Easter holidays to come.The original paper tag is securely attached on the bottom, with clear print as follows: "DRAKE PROCESS Patented May 29 1919"
The print that is not easy to read originally said "copyright 1924-F.N. BURT COMPANY, Ltd. BUFFALO, N.Y."Measures approximately 6 1/2" tall, 6 1/2" long, 4 1/2" wide.
Some cracking around the top of the basket, but in amazing shape considering the age of the piece.
