Antique English Pewter Quart Tankard Measure by the Partnership of Bolton & Wylde (working years 1822 to 1835) of Wigan, Lancashire - Circa 1830

Straight-sided form with mid fillet, crank handle with spatulate terminal and nicely detailed and flared footrim.Fine turning lines to the bottom.

The maker\'s hallmarks [ B&W/Deer Head / Crowned Lion Head / Lion Rampant] are struck to the left of the upper handle join.Crowned Xto the interior base and \'IMPERIAL\' label to front below rim.Please see photos. [Please note: I have currently on offer a Pint and a 1/2 Pint, both also by B&W, which display well with this Quart.]

Capacity verification* for Westmorland County - West Ward [Castle above W IV above W] struck adjacent to the hallmarks.Please photos for all markings.

Engraved to the side is the letter \' H \'.

In very good antique used condition with light typical signs of wear. Please see the photos Warm gray patina.

Standing 6 inches tall and weighing 28.2 oz. Rim Diameter: 4 in. Base Diameter: 5.1 in.

The principals of the pewterer firm of Bolton & Wilde were Ralph Bolton and William Atwell Wylde.
