Stunning crystal decanter topped with HEAVY sterling silver mounts. Made by Charles Boyton in 1882.
Sterling silver collar hasmagnificent design ofBACCHUS face embedded in grapevine leaves and grapes . The hinged lid is topped with figure of lion rampant supporting heraldic shield. The lid works very well and closes tightly. The solid sterling silver handle is attached to the collar and band at neck base.
The crystal part is intact, no cracks or chips. No sterling imperfections.No monograms
The lid is marked on the inside with CB (Charles Boyton) Makers mark, lion passant, London.(pic #5)
Another set of marksis visible on the lower part of the collarCB into twoconjoined circles London 1882 Lion Passant , Letter G for the year 1882 and Sovereign head (duty mark)certifying payment of the duty (pic #8)
