Beautiful English Victorian silver locket and fancy book chain. The locket is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1893, maker\'s mark J.C. (John Clifford?). The bale and jump ring are also marked with the lion passant, the chain is unmarked. Total weight 48.5g. Very wearable length.The locket measures approx 5 x 4cm (excluding bale) and the central raised panel is engraved with an image of ferns. Star and ball detailing to the border. The hinge is in good working order and closes with a firm snap. There are a few very small dents to the reverse of the locket (see photo 10) in keeping with age and general wear. The book chain measures approx 45cm in length and the links measure 1.5cm in width.
