Richard Esterbrook opened his pen and nib business inn Camden, N.J. in 1856 and changed the name to the one on this case in 1858. I think this sample case of nibs is from the late 19th to early 20th century. Many of the nibs are named by profession or other monikers to define what each profession might want in a pen nib. This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of American Pen History in owning such a saleman\'s sample, that is so close to being complete. Notice the 2 nibs shaped as hands in the one photograph. I don\'t know how many other examples of these particular nibs are in existence, but there can\'t be many. Any questions I can answer, please email me. Thanks for offerding on this RARE salesman\'s nib sampler.
