We have an antique field drum made by famous drum maker William Kilbourn of Albany, NY and sold by dealer William C. Gomph, also of Albany, NY. From the paper label inside the shell, I believe the drum was made in 1890, 1892, or 3. Tough to read.
Note the carving on the inside rim (see photo) - what appears to be \"VIIII\". I am not sure whether that is from the manufacturer, William Kilbourn, or one of the owners, but it is a neat feature. (If you are familiar with those markings, please email me. Thx.)
As you can see from the photos, overall the drum is in excellent shape. But note the following items:

The bottom skin is ripped
The snares are missing
One of the leather tugs is missing
The rope is frayed in one spot and needs repair (note, there is enough extra rope to replace this - see photo)

The drum has 2 paper labels inside the shell (see photos).
The top label says:

There is some handwriting on the top left corner of the second label which I cannot read. It looks like it\'s \"Commissioned by\" - but I am not sure. On the bottom right corner a date is handwritten. It looks like Jan or Mar 27, 1890 or 93.
The drum measures roughly 16\" diameter and 14\" height.
