This painting is coming from an old estate here in Antwerp and is from a very high quality. The measures of the panel are about 11 ¾” (29,5cm) x 9 ¾” (25cm) and with the frame about 17 ½” (44,5cm) x 15 ¼” (39cm) . In the condition as depicted with no restorations. It is not signed I don’t see it, but it is a typical painting from him. It is the original frame, see on the pictures. An absolute marvellous painting for collectors of antique quality farm animal paintings.
Henri Schouten 1864 – 1927, he was famous specialist painter of animals and landscapes, mainly cattle, horses and fowl. You will find many information about this famous painter on the Internet. The pictures not perfect because the painting was still on the wall when I took them. The painting is much more beautiful as depicted.
