A beautifully painted portrait of a French lady, c. 1860. Oil on tin. I bought this from a major Atlanta, GA art dealer in the 1990\'s, he described it as being French in costume, early or pre-Victorian 1850-1860. The frame looks to be early Victorian and likely original , I didn\'t have any restoration done to the portrait, it wasn\'t needed, the art dealer hadn\'t either and he point out that the tacks holding the tin in and the dust between them and the frame was extensive and that the painting had not been out of that frame in a long time, The frame is 16 3/4\" x 19 3/4\" and 3 1/4\" deep. Actual painting is 8 7/8\" x 11 5/8\". Very well painted from the folds of the scarf to the pearls to the fur lining the edge of the jacket. It is a fabulous oil portrait with stunning colors. Painting will be well packed with paper, bubble and triple boxed for safe arrival.
