Antique French 19th c reverse painted glass mat with gold trim framed.~pair
Here are a pair of French mid 1800 reverse painted glass in black with a thin gold border matfor an oval painting or photograph. Found at a local estate I was told this and many other items were brought from France in the 1920\'s from her grandmother.
The frames are wood with 22k gold trim Same as reverse painted.
Both have the original hangers on the back.
Measurements are: 4 1/4\" x 5 3/4\" long. Inside glass measurement is: 3 1/2\" x 5\".
Both are in excellentantique condition with just a few rubbings on the corners of the wood frame and a sliver of wood off the back of the wood frame. Will need a few extra nails to secure the back into the frame. Someone has used tape in the past.
