Unusual Estate Find. Up for sale is this Antique Shoulderhead Doll which I acquired from an estate sale. Past owner told me that she was given this doll by her grandfather and was told that it may be a French doll but she is not sure, (Looks like a fashion doll). So you are offerding on an antique doll which is 15 1/2\" tall and appears to be all original. Doll has pierced ears and appears to have original teardrop earrings which appear to be glass with no defects. Face exterior is wax which has some staining and a small crease on one cheek and forehead, (see photos). I didn\'t attempt to clean face as I will leave that up to the buyer. Doll has black and white inserted glass still eyes which are in perfect condition. She has a unique light red hair design which is glued on and has what appears to be a thin paper headband which is tacked on and all looks original. She has painted facial features including eyebrows, lips and rosey cheeks. Doll has painted boots, socks, legs and arms which appear to be composition and arms also appear to be composition with no apparent chips or cracks. Her body appears to be stuffed with straw. She is wearing a blue intricate designed tafetta dress which is covered with lace. Lace trim on bottom is seperating in areas and lace has some staining on collar and shoulder area. Blue dress in in nice condition with no stains or holes. Doll also has laced pantaloons and a cotton underdress which has some light staining with no holes.
