French Gilt

A beautiful French gilt bronze picture frame, backed with velvet and moiré. A gold fluted column forms the oval of the frame, topped with sculptural ribbons and bow; classical Frenchornamentation. There is hand-cut glass and a moire insert, and the back is lined with velvet. Display on a tabletop with the hinged wire stand, or hang on the wall with the attached ring. I can\'t find any maker\'s mark, but it is likely from the early 20th century and made in France. A graceful frame befitting a favorite family photo.

Light age wear to velvet and moire backings. Some oxidation and light wear to gilt finish.
