Uncovered in Brussels from a long-established Wine Shop (you can see their brochure from the 60s in the photos). The owner had purchased it in Bordeaux, France, and used it in his wine store for over 50 years. Embossed by the crafter \"BF Paris\", \"M.LE 1923\", and \"Echaudes les bouchons\".
Fully functional bottle corker, all iron and brass, wood handle, kept oiled so very little pitting on the moving surfaces (item was in use regularly at the boutique).
Beautiful accent or functional piece! I asked the owner about the weld, he said it was a weld from original manufacture, which matches the age of the item. I\'m sad to see this go, but hope it finds a home with someone who appreciates the art of the old-world machinery involved with vintage wines...
