Greetings and welcome to our sale.
Today we are offering a 12 1/2\" flat top china doll.
I think this doll may date back to the Civil War era.
On the back of her chest plate it reads Germany.
She has a china head, arms, and lower section of the legs.
I think that perhaps the china pieces are original and the body is newer having been repaired and replaced at some point. Please refer to all photos.
The body is stuffed with saw dust or straw or perhaps the combination of both
The red and white gauze dress is very early. It is very crude.
The doll\'s breast plate had been repaired and reglued. There is a very small nick on the tip of her left shoe. Please refer to all photos.
So if you\'ve been wanting to add an early doll to your collection you just might want to consider this one.
