This is an extremely rare, collector\'s item, antique clock. It is one of the last of 400-day anniversary mantel clocks produced by Gustav Becker before he sold his company. It is also one of the largest clocks of this type. There is a well-visible name \"Gustav Becker\" imprinted in the center of the clock face – this is unprecedented in all previous GB models of anniversary clocks.

On the back side of the mechanism,the clock has a GB logo and a serial number. The logo can be identified as the Freiburg Logo and dates the clock as from 1923-1933. Indeed, my mother received this clock as a wedding gift in 1929.

The serial number 1015is stamped at the center of the lower edge of the back plate (it is behind the vertical bar guiding the pendulum).

The clock has six pillars, the pendulum is a rotatingfour-balltorsion type. The suspension spring has been replaced, and the clockRUNS! However, it slows down and after a few minutes, stops. This must be because the mechanism probably has not been serviced and lubricated since it was produced.The clock is complete including the original winding key.

All brass parts under the dome are in very good condition – shiny and quite clean. There is some scuffing under the pendulum and where the dome touches the brass. Outside the dome the brass is darkened.

The lower part of the glass dome is cracked and taped together. The dome still serves well its purpose – protecting the clock from dust and Environment. The crack is almost invisible when it is placed in the back of the clock.

The glass dome has 7.4 inches (18.9 cm) outside diameter and 15.6 inches (39.5 cm) height. The replacement dome can be found in the USA, but, I believe, a buyer who resides in Europe, especially in Germany, could locate it even easier. Therefore, I did not purchase the replacement dome, but instead reduced my price accordingly – the dome is thus included in this offer at no charge (gratis), and I do not guarantee it against breakage in shipment.
