Shade attaches to lamp part with spring clips with a firm connection. A magnet does not stick to the metal parts so I believe it to be brass. Condition: Shade is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The bottom and top rims are slightly rough but that is common in glass of this age. There are no chips.The attached lamp part is missing the rest of the fixture and is being sold \"As Is\". I believe the previous owner of the light has applied something to the metal, possibly an antique gold paint. I did not try to remove it, I will leave it up to the buyer if they wish to do so. It is very attractive in it\'s current condition. Please see all pictures to appreciate this antique beauty.

I apologize but my camera has been malfunctioning and isputting white lines in some of my pictures--If you see a white line straightacross a picture it is NOT there. If youcompare pictures, the lines are in different places, which shows you that theyare not really there.
