This sale is for a Genuine OLD SHEFFIELD PLATE Entree Dish.

The beaded construction along the edges of the dishes of Old Sheffield Plate is quite evident - please see the close-up photos.

The Dish, which measures approximately 13 1/2 inches long by 10 1/2 inches and weighs 1746 grams, is in very good condition with no signs of silver wear through other than 2 spots on the inside of the base of the dish (please see photos) and several areas of wear on the very bottom of the dish.

The Dish hasand Old English Style script monogram of what looks like \"I St. K\". As was common in Old Sheffield Plate, the silversmiths cut out a plug where the initials were to go and replaced it with a solid silver plug - before I polished the dish I could see the outline of the plug, but now I can\'t find it??

Again, as was normal for Old Sheffield Plate, the original owners would often order a number of identical dishes, but as each dish was individually hand made, the lid of one dish may or may not fit another dish so each dish and all of it\'s components was assigned a number (often over the years they sets get split up and the components mixed up - but in the case of this dish all three pieces are correct and marked with the number \"4\".
