Main Description

This fine antique George IV Scottish sterling silver three piece tea service consists of a teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl.

The pieces of this service have a circular rounded form onto a circular domed spreading foot.

The body of each piece is ornamented with a fine and impressive broad band of chased grape vine and foliate decoration to the upper portion.

The lower portion and foot of the teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl are embellished with embossed fluted decoration.

The shoulders of each item are encircled with a band of two tiered leaf designs above an impressive egg and tongue decorated border.

The teapot is fitted with a flush hinged hallmarked cover ornamented with further impressive chased leaf decoration to the domed portion; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this service.

The cover is surmounted by an exceptional, large sterling silver bud and leaf decorated finial.
