A magnificent, fine and impressive antique George IV English sterling silver teapot made by Charles Thomas Fox; an addition to our silver teaware collection.
This magnificent antique George IV English sterling silver teapot has a circular compressed form onto a shaped spreading foot.
The upper portion of the body of the teapot is encircled with magnificent chased scallop shell designs emanating from a scrolling leaf decorated border.
This Charles Thomas Fox silver teapot is fitted with a hallmarked flush hinged cover ornamented with shell textures to the central domed portion; the flush hinge indicates the fine quality of this piece.
The cover retains the original magnificent hallmarked cast sterling silver finial realistically modelled in the form of a conch shell; securing to the interior with a screw fitment.
This exceptional example of antique teaware retains the original hallmarked cast, ribbed C shaped handle ornamented with a floral design to the thumbpoece and enveloped with tiered leaf designs to the lower terminal.
The teapot is fitted with an exceptional cast and applied swan necked spout, embellished with further chased decoration replicating the details of the shell and leaf textures.
The circular shaped foot of the teapot is encircled with chased decorated shell textures, accented with an applied rim.
This magnificent antique silver teapot, crafted by the renowned London silversmith Charles Thomas Fox, is a rare example and the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.

This antique Charles Thomas Fox silver teapot is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition.
The chased and cast decoration is very sharp.
Full hallmarks struck to the underside and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover, finial and handle are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the exceptional gauge of silver.
