Antiquesolid silver oval shaped tea pot by Henry Chawner

Hallmarked for London and dated 1792.

Chased with birds and foliate scrolls

The pot is in fair to good condition

there is a hairline split to one side of the spout, this is about 2 cm long and tucked into the joint of the spout.

it has evidence of repair to the base of the handle and the base of the pot itself ,

there a notable dent to one side, near the base.

The wooden finial is loose due to the thread of the bolt wearing and the top of the spout has misshaped.

other than this is displays surface scratching/ marking and the odd tiny ding common with age and use.

This would have been a piece of real quality in its time, its beautifully crafted, the hinge and lid in particular stand out.

The handle remains securely fixed and the lid is in good working order and sits perfectly into the base.

Fully hallmarked to the underside of the tea pot, the marks are very clear and legible. stamped with a lion passant to the lid.
