A blank cartouche to lid with guilloche background and cast grape leaf border, slight outer gilding remains

Measures 2.5\" wide by just under 1\" high and weighs 86gms

A Regency silver-gilt snuff box with exquisite decoration including; guilloche body, cast grape and leaf borders with reeded edging completed by rounded corners which all unite to from a very handsome piece of sterling.

Made by Thomas Pemberton & Robert Mitchell, London 1816 Pemberton & Mitchell first registered together July 1813 and went on to form a further partnership with George Ellis Cooke with additional marks registered at the Birmingham assay office.

With every outer surface heavily decorated(including underside of base) and 86gms silver weight this piece is hefty in hand and a box is of a quality build.

lid stays ajar ever so slightly
small dings in places
some wear to gilding from age and use
