Antique German 10\" Mustard Coat BELSNICKLE Santa Father Christmas Paper Mache :

A Wonderful antique Belsnickle, or German Santa Clause from around the turn of the century (1900). It measures a large 10” tall and is made of paper-mache. This Belsnickle has an unusual color coat of of green yellow or mustard with red fur trim around his hood and Mica flakes all over his body. He holds a small branch of an old Christmas feather tree I believe with a red berry attached to the end. I\'m certain he was a candy container and still has his paper cover partially attached to the bottom to hold the candy in place until opened.It is unmarked, but is definitely of German origin.
Showing lots of photos to give you a good look as they are part of the description. Paint wear at the tip of his hood, a few nicks at the hem of his coat, slight crazing at the base. Not perfect but he has survived for over 100 years and has no major defects. Still in Super Nice condition.An Unusual Hard to Find Antique Christmas collectible to add to your collection.
