Antique RAREGerman Hardcarved Frame/Print \"deutschland über alles\" Germany above all. Measures 43-1/2\" x 32\".

I found this fabulous piece in Chicago and was told that it came from a wealthy insurance founder who traveled the world and this was purchased on one of his travels. The \"deutschland über alles\" is engraved at the top of the frame. The frame appears to be handmade... if you look at the slates in back. The print\'s color is still very vibrant and such a serene country scene.

The \"Deutschlandlied\" (\"Song of Germany\", German pronunciation: [ˈdɔʏtʃlantˌliːt]; also known as \"Das Lied der Deutschen\" or \"The Song of the Germans\"), or part of it, has been the national anthem of Germany since 1922, except in East Germany, whose anthem was \"Auferstanden aus Ruinen\" (\"Risen from Ruins\") from 1949 to 1990.

Since World War II and the fall of Nazi Germany, only the third stanza has been used as the national anthem. The stanza\'s incipit, \"Einigkeit und Recht und Freiheit\" (\"Unity and Justice and Freedom\") are considered the unofficial national motto of Germany,[1] and are inscribed on Bundeswehr belt buckles and the rims of some German coins.
