This is an antique bisque head baby doll made in Germany in the early 1900s

 

 

Her perfect bisque head is marked Heubach Koppelsdorf 349 10/0 and measures 8 5/8\" in circumference, with no chips, cracks, hairlines or damage

 

 

 

The doll\'s head is sewn into its pillow body and mounted onto a cardboard tube inside, so she lays down like an infant baby sleeping on her pillow

 

 

Doll has her original blue sleep eyes and high colored cheeks, with celluloid hands which have no damage, but one hand has a torn sleeve and needs some repair to the fabric; there are no cracks, dents, splits or damage to the celluloid

 

 

The doll\'s head can be accessed through the bottom of the pillow and you can put your hand inside and manipulate her head and hands like a puppet

 

 

The pillow and lace show age wear and discoloration appropriate for the doll\'s age, with a few small holes and tears, but it is fresh and clean with no odors; the fabric does need reattaching around the base of the neck to the head and around one wrist, as shown in photos

 

 

Sometimes the doll\'s eyes roll back into her head a little when she is laying on her pillow; her mechanism inside most likely just needs a little adjusting
