Antique German Porcelain Bisque Figurine Children Reading 10 .5 high Heubach:

This beautiful figurine/planter comes directly from my grandmothers estate. We believe it was her mothers piece and their home was in the suburbs of Philadelphia for many many years. It is bisque and made in Germany at the turn of the century or early 1890 -1900s. The blue colors used on the children\'s clothing are so eye catching.There are no makers marks on it, but very typical in the style and quality of the German makers Bahr & Proschild or Gerbruder Heubach. Their little faces have exquiste fine painting and expression with detail. (view Photos) Has a nice size to it as it stands 10 1/2 inches tall. The children are sitting on the edge of a boat as they read and explore the book in front of them.
Three of the boy\'s finger tips are missing. They are hardly noticeable, almost missed this when doing the description. (See the pictures). There is also a tiny nip on the very bottom of the base. Again, hardly noticeable. The planter area in the back of figurine was used by my grandmother for a plant and is dirty and we have not cleaned it, in fear we might harm the figurine. We will leave that up to the next owner. Let us know if you have any questions.
