What is the story behind this guy? What an odd looking fellow! Here we have an unusual porcelain nodder doll modeled as an old man in his night dress. Perhaps this character is known and understood by some, but the subject matter is beyond me. He looks like Mr. Magoo, which will really add to the confusion of most people reading this! :) Standing 6 1/2\" tall, he is made from two separate parts, with the majority of his body shaped rather like a bell that swings and sways from a wire hanger. The wire runs through his shoulders and is supported on the lower portion of his body, which consists of a skinny pair of legs with bare feet molded onto a gilt decorated base. He\'s got his candlestick and his cane, and is ready to head on up to bed! He is unmarked save for an R-3 stamped on the base. I hope there is a Collector out there who can relate to this guy!

I meant to mention it--any fine gray lines you see around the mid-section of the doll are transfer marks from a metal doll stand and NOT hairlines or cracks.
