Very early poured composition candy container reindeer. German made although it is unsigned. Glass eyes and flocked type finish. Pre or near 1900. This piece is a beauty even though it has been extensively restored. When I purchased it the deer was a beautiful intact head. Antlers were off and severely twisted but fixable. The torso was just that. All four legs were broken off. The tail was also off. After thinking of selling it as is I decided to have the piece restored professionally. I think he emerged looking dashing. Please remember the restoration in your offerding. While the reindeer still shows beautifully it has had some leg pieces restored and much repaint and restoration to the flocked finish. I’m starting the offerding at my cost including repairs. He’s large, almost 10”l. And 8”t. Head removes easily and stays in place. There are no cracks or missing pieces.Buyer to pay $14.00 postage for seriously safe packing.with insurance for full sale end price. If you are looking for a nice companion for your Santa and aren’t a purist he’s for you. If you bulk at restoration please don’t offer for I don’t want you to be disappointed he’s not perfection.
