Offering for your consideration an antique German reliquary or devotional shadowbox.

This diorama depicts the Blessed Mother surrounded by a wreath of delicate hand cutpaper flowers. Our Lady is made of wax and wears a satin robe with gold paper trim. A large gold paper halo surrounds her head.

The ovalfame is gold gilt and measures 8 1/2\" long by 7\" wide. It has the original hanger on the back.

It is in beautiful condition. Please see all photos which are a part of the description.

This antique shadow boxis entirely made by hand....most probably by nuns. It is sweet example of religious German Folk Art.
