For your consideration is one of two sets of German sterling salt and pepper shaker that I will be listing on today. Yes I will combine shipping should you buy both sets. This is for a pair of large salt and pepper shaker, hallmarked on neck and on the inside of the top lid. Please look at all my photographs. This has a footed-form with overall cherub design, floral and scrolling leaf decorations, dolphin finial tops. TheCherubs or Putti are embossed on all four sides of these shakers. One is playing the mandolin, the other is holding a bunch of flowers, another is playing the violin, and the last seems to be flying with some flowers on its back. The base has a wonderful flower and leaf design which includes a large frog on the base. There are approximately 8 inches tall and a little over 2 1/2 inches wide at its widest.I have put both kosher salt and pepper in these shakers, and they work wonderfully. I have looked in my silver book, and I make out the hallmarks to be the first one I believe is a pineapple, the second can\'t quite make out, and the third Mark is a profile of what I believe can be an eagle. A very similar and yet very hard to read as the ones in my book. These mark state that these could be 18 century. But I\'m selling these as 19th century to be on the safe side. Please look at my photographs, and any help out there would be greatly appreciated. This pair of Shakers, are in excellent condition.
