It has been painted with gold paint or goldleafing. It measures about 23 ½ inchesby 27 ½ inches on the outside edges of the frame and the opening measures about15 3/8 inches by 19 3/8 inches. Thewooden decorative border measures about 4 inches across. A corner has been damaged and looks like somelittle piece of wood is gone and has been painted over it. It shows wear and use.
