Antique Figural Cast Iron
Golden Still Penny Bank
Pig or Hog Sitting on Hind Legs

For Your Penny Bank A beautiful antique figural cast iron still penny bank. It is cast in the form of a large pig or hog sitting on its hind legs with its front legs fully stretched. The bank is painted in gold with red highlight for the pig\'s mouth. The bank is made of two halves which fit together nicely and are held together with a screw. We believe the screw is original to the bank and fits well within the pig\'s belly. The bank has the coin slot on the back of the pig\'s head between its ears. The casting of the bank is very well done and shows great details of the pig\'s body, eyes, mouths, and ears. We have opened the bank and could not find any markings. We show the open bank and the way it looks inside. For the same bank, see bank number 582 \"Seated Pig by A.C. Williams\" in Andy and Susan Moore\'s book, The Penny Bank Book, Collecting Still Banks Published By Scfiffer Publishing Ltd. of Exton, PA in 1984. This bank was purchased as part of a large collection of cast iron penny banks, which we will be listing over the coming weeks and months. Please carefully review the pictures presented as they are part and parcel of our description.
