This lovely musical grand piano with a Swiss Thorens movement is also marked Silverite Comp Brooklyn 16 NY. The Thorens movement plays a classical melody. The top is bakelite and the metal is a lovely deep gold over cast metal. It is quite heavy at almost 4 lbs. The music stops when the lid is closed. When playing, the lid stays open. The movement is marked Thorens Switzerland. Very beautiful and ornate details on the body of the piano. It seems that all of such Grand Piano music boxes are unique, this one has beautiful patina.
