This is an antique Gujarat takhat or coffee table.

Dating from the middle of the 19th Century this octagonal Indian takhat (coffee table) has a glorious patina to the teak, planked top.

Riding upon tapered feet decorated in warm hues that echo the banding framing the pierced brass frieze this piece is richly decorated and harmonious form and function.

The table top has a perimeter plain band of brass enclosing an inner foliate pierced band that in turn frames the wonderful centre floral decoration.

This is a delightful table in good antique condition
