Here we have this antique Cast Brass? Floor Lamp. It is made by the H A Best Lamp Co, Chicago, ILL as shown on the bottom. It is a very heavy lamp and I believe it to be brass? as it is non magnetic.The ornately figured metal looks like it has been gilded. The arched square rod moves up and down in the retainers for height adjustment.There are thumb screws to tighten to hold it in place. It has never been cleaned or polished. I think if it were the metal/brass would produce a more brilliant appearance. It is a very solid and heavy lamp. An amazing and beautiful antique. With a Tiffany style lamp shade it would truly bring elegance to any room. It is in good working condition as shown in pictures, however I will let the new owner determine the safety needs of the wiring. The light bulb socket is a little loose and may need attention or possibly replaced.. Please view the photos for style, color and condition.
